Role

Pickaxe is seeking a frontend developer experienced in React to help us build the best interface for people to create with AI models. The ideal candidate is experienced in React, has an appetite for interesting problems, and wants to work at an early stage start-up that iterates quickly.

This is a contract position in the short term. If the fit works, we'd like to bring this person on with an equity stake in the company.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and add features to our Prompt Builder
• Develop new user-facing features using React.js
• Build reusable components and front-end libraries for future use
• Collaborate with back-end developers and UX/UI designers to translate designs into high-quality code
• Optimize components for maximum performance across a wide array of web-capable devices and browsers
• Maintain brand consistency throughout the design

Requirements

• Strong proficiency in React.js
• Experience with Next.js
• Familiarity working with a Python / Flask backend
• Knowledge of modern front-end build pipelines and tools
• Ability to work independently and in a team-oriented, fast-paced environment
• Experience and enthusiasm for generative AI is a plus
